Be safe, little birds, Days 16-17, May 5-6, 2009

I have to admit that I've had a difficult time finishing this last video. I'll admit that the chick's leaving the nest when they did really surprised and saddened me. I haven't seen them since they left but I have seen their parents take mealworms high into nearby trees.

I won't see them for 10 days to 2 weeks. Daddy is taking care of them, feeding them, teaching them. He'll bring them to the mealworm feeder so they can learn how to feed themselves. It's always exciting to see them again and I pray that I see them both. There have been broods in the past where all the chicks did not return. It's a tough world out there for a baby bird.

Mama and Daddy stopped by the nest box yesterday. Daddy took out some material (surprise) but I don't think they've been back since. They are a bit busy.
